27. 1. 2017
As of 1 January 2017 EuroPainClinics® workplaces that conduct clinical research on the endoscopic procedure epiduroscopy (study EPCS II), use a new special 5-stage questionnaire tracing the health status of patients, i.e. study participants.
EuroPainClinics® clinical research won an exclusive license to use a health questionnaire in practice from the renowned Dutch company EuroQool Association Group, which covers a network of more than 75 research centres around the world. The EQ-5D-5L health questionnaire is a standardised instrument used as a measure a patient’s state of health in five dimensions at five levels of perceiving the seriousness of the health problems from no problem to extreme levels. Patients assess their health status directly on the day by filling out a questionnaire based on a total of five parameters (mobility – self-care – one’s status when performing normal activities such as work, study, hobbies – pain/discomfort – anxiety/depression), and the current state of health, i.e. how they feel health-wise, these are recorded on a scale from 0 to 100. The aim of the questionnaire is an objective assessment of the parameters for research into the quality of life of patients in different populations. The results of the research can be used to estimate the impact of health interventions on the patient’s quality of life in a number of aspects, for example. in the context of economic assessments.
