Educational activity of EuroPainClinics

EuroPainClinics as University Department of the Faculty of Medicine, UPJŠ Košice

Our Clinics of Minimally Invasive and Endoscopic Back Treatment EuroPainClinics is currently the only clinical facility in Slovakia to meet the criteria for comprehensive interventional diagnosis and treatment.

This fact has been reflected since 2019 by the mutual contractual cooperation between EuroPainClinics and the Medical Faculty of PJ Šafárik University in Košice, when based on the decision of the Dean and the Academic Senate, EuroPainClinics was granted the status of a faculty teaching institution as a specialized workplace in the subject of Algesiology – Pain Management. The teaching is available for  domestic and foreign students of the Faculty of Medicine, UPJŠ. The guarantor of the teaching is Dr. Róbert Rapčan, PhD., MBA, FIPP. In cooperation with the university, EuroPainClinics continues to develop activities on grant projects related to clinical research. EuroPainClinics specialists participate in the professional supervision of diploma theses of foreign medical students. In cooperation with the Institute of Anatomy of the Medical Faculty of UPJŠ in Košice, EuroPainClinics also participates in the teaching of the study subject Clinical Applied Anatomy / Clinical Ultrasound Anatomy.

EuroPainClinics co-authored a new graduate program for physicians

In cooperation with professional societies (Slovak Society for the Study and Treatment of Pain, Interventional Algesiology Section, Slovak Neurosurgical Society and Slovak Radiological Society), EuroPainClinics is the co-author of a new study program for certification work “Neurointerventional Medicine”, approved by the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic as part of postgraduate education. The start of the program is planned from autumn 2020 at the sub department of interventional pain management of the Slovak Medical University in Bratislava. The certification program is intended for physicians with acquired specialization in the fields of interventional pain management, neurosurgery and radiology.

Cadaver workshops

In cooperation with the Institute of Anatomy of the Medical Faculty of J. A. Comenius University in Bratislava, EuroPainClinics organizes international cadaver workshops including theoretical teaching and practical training with central topics of practical anatomy and technical aspects of interventional approaches, including advanced endoscopic techniques in the treatment of vertebrogenic syndromes and others. The workshops take place with the participation of renowned foreign specialists as training instructors and lecturers.

Educational seminars and demonstrations

Intervention techniques for the treatment of back pain and large joints are the content of accredited educational seminars, which EuroPainClinics prepares individually and in groups for domestic clinical and hospital facilities. For foreign specialists, under the leadership of Dr. Róbert Rapčan, PhD., MBA, FIPP, as a medical tutor and head trainer, there are tailor-made instructional programs on the topic of advanced endoscopic techniques.

Cryoablation training center

EuroPainClinics operates in Slovakia as the only training center for instruction in minimally invasive techniques for cryoablation performed under X-ray guidance, including related technology services. Trainings are intended for specialists in the fields of anesthesiology, orthopaedics, neurosurgery, spinal surgery and interventional radiology.
