Dr. Róbert Rapčan, PhD., MBA, FIPP, Medical Director of the EuroPainClinics network, is a leading European specialist in minimally invasive and endoscopic back treatment certified in Sweden, Great Britain, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Dr. Rapčan has for a long time maintained the trend of introducing innovative treatment methods and techniques, special methodologies and the latest medical device technologies into the clinical practice of all EuroPainClinics workplaces. As a professional guarantor of treatment services, he actively participates in creating the vision and strategy of EuroPainClinics. He actively participates in creating the reputation for EuroPainClinics on a national and international level. Since 2016, he has been appointed to the prestigious position of FIPP Examiner (Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice) of the World Institute of Pain. Since May 2019, he has been appointed as a member of the elite Advisory Board of the international educational portal for physicians PainCast.
EDUCATION AND CAREER
The medical career of Dr. Róbert Rapčan is connected with his long-term work in significant European medical workplaces, where he worked in several key positions. With his professional knowledge, he is constantly involved in the development of the field of algesiology and interventional pain treatment. In addition to his work at EuroPainClinics®, Dr. Rapčan worked for more than 16 years in Sweden, mainly at the university hospital in Umea. From 2005 to 2010, he was the Head of Anesthesiology and Interventional Pain Management at the United Kingdom Specialist Hospitals in the United Kingdom. From 2008 to 2010, he also worked as the Medical Director of Shepton Mallet Treatment Centre. He participated in the implementation of innovative systems of integrated medical care.
MEMBERSHIPS IN PROFESSIONAL COMPANIES
Dr. Róbert Rapčan is a founding member and president of the Slovak Intervention Society for Pain Management. He is a member of national and international professional societies such as the Spine Intervention Society, the World Institute of Pain, the International Neuromodulation Society, the European Society of Regional Anaesthesia, the Slovak Society for the Study and Treatment of Pain, and the Polish Society for Interventional Pain Management. Since May 2016, he has been appointed to the prestigious position of FIPP examiner – instructor and examiner of international examinations Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP).
RESEARCH, PUBLICATIONS & PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
Dr. Rapčan is the author and co-author of several dozen scientific articles published in domestic and foreign scientific journals. As an organizer, co-organizer and active lecturer, he participates in domestic and international congresses and symposia. He holds the position as a reviewer in the professional journal “Pain Ukraine”.
HOBBIES
Dr. Rapčan dedicates his free time to his family and sports – especially cycling, swimming, running, triathlon. His hobbies are include martial arts.
